A Love Letter to Nature
xoxo
A cowgirl’s refuge is always in Mother Nature. Hooves on the ground, wind through our hair, grass so green it’ll make her smile, a cow’s hooves beating on the dirt road, birds chirping and a coyote’s cry to the moon. A cowgirl’s heart is the most free in the outdoors.
Today we celebrate Earth Day. This is our love letter to Mother Earth. <3
As a lover of poetry, I have an affinity for Mary Oliver’s books. Her poetry transcends time, weaves threads of beauty and wisdom, and invites us to linger in the quiet corners of nature. She reminds us of how wind caresses our skin with its gentle touch, and how a bird’s morning song can become a celebration of life itself.
I get lost in her words and get lost in the romance of Earth’s deep inspiration it has on our heart’s.
Here is a favorite poem from miss Mary Oliver…
“Sleeping in the Forest”
I thought the earth
remembered me, she
took me back so tenderly, arranging
her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds. I slept
as never before, a stone
on the riverbed, nothing
between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated
light as moths among the branches
of the perfect trees. All night
I heard the small kingdoms breathing
around me, the insects, and the birds
who do their work in the darkness. All night
I rose and fell, as if in water, grappling
with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.
Isn’t that such a nice reminder of how sweet nature is? The way nature tickles us with joy, wonder, sadness and beauty is truly the greatest gift. It is a blessing to witness the seasons, to live among the trees, rise with the sun and sleep with the stars. What a marvel this world truly is. I am grateful for the days I get to spend outside on the back of a leather saddle. Those are the days I live for.

I wanted to share this sweet cowboy poem I discovered on Pinterest — upon reading it hit me like a ton of bricks, it is such a sweet ode to countryside living & a cowgirl’s heart.
“The Front Porch”
The world is full of hustle and bustle, city streets, car sounds and sirens. The countryside is quiet & peaceful. It can be lonely but the sounds of silence eventually soothe our souls. The crickets chirping are our sleep machines and the roosters are our alarm clocks. One day I dream of a place where cities are something of the past, and more and more people gravitate towards a slower pace of living.

Mother Nature, we truly love you with all our hearts. — 1991 will always be in reverence to her and aims to inspire women to lead a lifestyle that is more in tune with nature. Cowgirl boots are born to be outside, they are made to be worn and lived in. They are made to travel on the back of a saddle and frolic among the grass. I hope we can inspire you to be more in tune with nature, to really explore your connection to her and to the animals. <3
